   Once again we focus our attention and recall with affection and devotion the marvelous miracle in which “the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” (Jn. 1:14). The God-Man Jesus, sent by our merciful Father with love to all of humanity, came to save us from sin and from ourselves. Jesus came to empower us to live life to the full. It is little wonder, then, that the Story of Christmas is so appealing to young and old and to rich and poor alike.

   A Demand of Ukrainian citizens to defend the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and uphold a legality at a scandalous building was put forward August 7, 2016. It was addressed to the General Prosecution, Cabinet of Ministers and Administration of the President of Ukraine.

Head of the UGCC sanctified a memorial bas-relief to Metropolitan Andrey in Lviv Opera House

   Today I have been honoured by God to sanctify a monumental bas-relief to the righteous metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky in this temple of art in Lviv, known around the world – National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Solomiya Krushelnytska.

   Young people from different parts of Ukraine make photographs in front of their churches in order to testify to the importance of Sunday with God in their lives.
Novojavorivsk, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Hoshiv, Kyiv, Kamianets-Podilskyj are not the full list of cities and towns that already made time to join the action: “Sunday is the Holy Day”.

   God always loves us unconditionally because mercy is his very nature. Said another way, because God is love, God is mercy. We almost know the words by heart because we have so often heard John’s story of the woman caught in adultery [JN 8:1-11]: “Has no one condemned you?”

   On February 12, the historical encounter between the Heads of the Catholic and Russian Orthodox Churches took place. The last time such an encounter was held was around 1000 years ago. The result of this meeting was a commonly stated Declaration which had diverse reactions in Ukraine. Here, we offer some ideas expressed by the Head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, in this regard.

   Dearly Beloved in Christ! Together with the Universal Church we are entering into a time of special grace -The Holy Year, which, according to the will of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, will last from 8th. December 2015 to 26th November 2016.
This year, which is also called an Extraordinary Jubilee Year, has been dedicated by the Pope to God's mercy.

The monument to Metropolitan Andrey will be brought to Ivano-Frankivsk soon

   The sculpture of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi, the main element of the future monument to the glorious figure of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, will be brought to Ivano-Frankivsk on 20 August. This was told by Deputy Director of the Department of Architecture and Urban Development Svitlana Losyuk during weekly operational meeting with the mayor.
