   Ukrainian publishers urged to prevent the introduction of the law "On national cultural product" in order not to damage the book market. This statement was heard at the international book forum in Lviv.
   According to the president of the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Booksellers Oleksandr Afonin, the problem is that the law has no essence, there are only benefits according to theb formal criteria: author, publisher, editor, publisher and media should be exclusively Ukrainian.
   "But we have a lot of people who write great pieces that exalts the state, its nation, and the illustrations are not Ukrainian; paper is also foreign, so publisher will not be able to obtain full privileges.     For example, now Ukrainian technical books are published in less than 500 copies, Ukraine requires intellectual borrowings from modern technology, explains the head of the association and warns that these books may not be available because they will not be distributed by public preferences.

    According to the statistics, said Afonin, Ukraine publishes 25,000 of books annually, up to 35 million copies, and that at least one book on one Ukrainian. For comparison, in many European countries every year every citizen buys 5-8 books.
   In many countries, especially in neighboring Russia each year the state budget funds their library collections. 30 percent of books are published in their territory.
