Red bandanas to the World Youth Day reminde the love of martyrs

In the Spanish city of Cordoba Diocese the participants of the World Youth Day have received red bandanas. The Bishop Demetri Gonzalez Fernandez explains that these bandanas recall the sacrifices of Christian martyrs.
He also says that "for Christians, during their 2000-year history, the red color of blood of martyrs, it is the color of the Holy Spirit."
"The red color doesn’t mean the Marxist revolution, which turned out to be a failure, or the color of nihilism of Nietzsche, which resulted into nothing. Moreover it does not symbolize the sexual revolution of Freud and his followers, which makes people the slavers of sex "- said the bishop.
On the contrary, the red color of bandanas, which are distributed to our young people, represents the Christian love that has already built the story based on Jesus Christ "- he explained.
February 19 thousands of young people gathered in the city of Cordoba to prepare for WYD, participating in concerts and Liturgies. The target of that event was to encourage young people to "change their lives and to become closer to Jesus Christ, to live in grace and to find the purity of soul, to have the sacrament of reconciliation" - the Bishop Fernandez said.
"The Future of the Church and our society – is in this youth" - he concluded.
